First off, although this is the second book in the "Chasing Evil" trilogy, it can absolutely standalone. Except for each of the FBI agents working under the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) and the same Special Agent in Charge (SAC) there is no other connection that I noticed. The couple from the first book are not even mentioned in this one and I don't recall any mention of Reid or Caitlyn in the previous one either. So rest assured these first two books at least can be read in any order. Both stories are wonderful reads that held me enthralled the entire time and have made me an instant fan of this author.

Generally I don't enjoy books over 400 pages long. This one was definitely an exception though and I honestly hated when it ended. I fell in love with both Reid and Caitlyn and my heart broke for them at times. Despite some of the crappy hands life has dealt them, they've kept their chins up and were just good people. The killers however were pure evil and creeped me out big time.From the very first page this story captured my unwavering attention. It had a chilling mystery, heart-pounding suspense, and a truly beautiful romance. In the end I simply loved it and every second I spent reading it!

This book is another in the,however to me the only thing that they have in common is the fun. That being said this book standalone. It have a very good plot with many twists and turns that keeps the reader's attention throughout the book. The characters were human rather than one sided. This is a fast read since the reader can not put it down.
A solid romantic suspense/thriller story. I did not like as much as Edge of Night but still a great read. This is the second book I've read by this author and both were very well done. Not heavy on the heat, recommended for readers that enjoy a little romance mixed with their serial killer suspense, Leslie Tentler doesn't disappoint
Another exciting read by Leslie Tentler! Edge-of-your-seat non-stop action with a huge surprise twist at the end, all wrapped in a budding romance. This second book by Ms. Tentler offers excellent prose you'd expect from a more seasoned writer. I highly recommend Midnight Fear, as well as her first book, Midnight Caller (her books are not a series that needs to be read in order so feel free to jump in anywhere). I'm starting on her third book (Edge of Midnight) now!
Another exciting book from beginning to end! Leslie is starting to become one of my favorite authors. The story and characters weave together so smoothly that you can't stop reading.
I truly enjoyed this book more so than Midnight Caller. Leslie Tentler is truly a talented writer with such a vivid imagination. I was intrigued with Caitlyn and Reid's characters who complimented each other so well.

In my opinion if you can picture yourself as part of the story front and center, you know the book is going to be great! I am such an avid reader that I read this book cover to cover in about 2 hours and must say Awesome Job Leslie! keep up the great work and I can hardly wait for the next installment.
The second book in the Chasing Evil Trilogy was as great as the first. Midnight Fear was suspenseful, chilling, and mysterious throughout. Lots of twists and turns!

I absolutely loved the two main characters, Reid and Caitlyn. Both were strong and at the same time very vulnerable. This story was fast paced, action packed, and very chilling at times. I had no clue who the killer was until the end and I was shocked. I didn't want to put it down. Well-written and well worth the reading.
My first book by Leslie Tentler and looking forward to reading more of her books. I didn't suspect the villain at all until it was made obvious. I found the book fast paced, there was always something happening and you immediately feel for the characters and what they've gone through, especially Caitlyn. What she survived, what she has to live with, the pain/deaths caused to people she cares about as a result of her association with a psychopath. The relationship between Caitlyn and Reid was very sweet, although their relationship progressed throughout the book, the sense of feeling between them was already there from the beginning.
