Broken The Carnelyan Pack Series Book 1 edition by Ascentii Phoenix Literature Fiction eBooks
Lycan packs, Vampires, a strong woman determined to fight her bad situation... All that and then some is what you will find in the debut publication of Ascentii Phoenix. And what a debut it is. There are only a handful of Authors (most of them Indy Authors) which have the ability to write a story that makes it impossible to put down and for me, this is one such creation.
Once you start reading, you get drawn into the scenes - you fear for Evangelyc's safety, feel Kaleb's need to protect her and the slowly growing comfort they find with each other.
This is the first book in the Carnelyan Pack Series and I am looking forward to learn morn about Lyk, Eva, Kaleb, Marie, the annyhylators and the others that were introduced in this book.
Thank you, Ascentii, for a fantastic read.

Broken The Carnelyan Pack Series Book 1 edition by Ascentii Phoenix Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
From the moment I started reading it on my kindle, I couldn't put it down. Loved Eva's character, a girl who has to battle her demons to come to terms of who she is and then finding Kaleb to pretty much complete her. The adventure they take you on is a great one and can't wait for the next book to come out.
This is a must read, great book )
From the beginning, these characters pull you into their world. Eva is a lost soul that has to battle against her own demons to find the person that she is and free herself from her past. Learning to accept who she is leads her into a world that gives her what she has never had. Kaleb fights himself and others to be who he is without taking those he cares about for granted. Yet when push comes to shove he fights for what makes his heart beat. With him you get it all the sexy alpha male who is strong and gentle with a fierce loyalty to his pack. This story takes you on one hell of an adventure, the twist and turns from beginning to end leaves you wanting more.
We meet Eva, a mysterious lady with some strange powers, her scumbag ex-who will do anything to get her back, and Kaleb, prince of the Carnelyan pack of shifters. Well written, well plotted, excellent character development. I could not ask for a better start to a series! It was fast paced from start to finish. This is gonna be one series that I have to plan a day of nothing but reading, because, trust me, once I start on these, nothing does get done...Straight read through, sitting on the edge of my seat! Woot! What a ride this is going to be!
The reviews on this one are really spread and I can see why. I started Broken ages ago but it didn't catch me right away. I put it down for a while and picked it back up and finished it in one sitting. The mythology is good and unique. There is a whole huge cast of interesting characters with different abilities. Werewolves, Vampires, Annyhylators, Angels, you name it and Broken has them. There are levels of each with varying strengths and abilities. There is real chemistry between Eva and Kaleb. The bad guy is a great bad guy, one you can really hate. There is quite a bit of cursing in this book, which I don't mind but some might find excessive.
A story filled with action that sucks you in and keeps you involved. An empath battling her past and a lycan with a past of his own determined to save her from hers, makes for a read that you can't put down. Both of them are coming to grips with their own demons and looking to the possibility of finding their futures in one another. Can all of the obstacles placed in their way be surmounted, and can they find peace in a future together? Ascentii gives the reader a flight into imagination filled with interesting characters and leaves him with a desire for more.
I'm not sure how I felt about Broken. I liked the story line. The characters were likeable and the mythology behind Ascentii Phoenix's shifting world was unique enough. So what kept me from enjoying it more? There were just times that the language slowed me down.
I'm not sure I can explain exactly what I mean, but I'll try. I think what threw me the most was the terminology that was used to explain the aspects of The Carnelyan Pack world. The terms were kind of technical and formal, which made it awkward to follow. Of course, that could have been just me. The romance, action, mystery and story premise were more than interesting and kept me from turning this into a DNF experience. It also ended in enough of a cliff hanger that I'm willing to give the next book a chance when it's released.
AMAZING! I could not put this book down. I know there is more books in the series but I totally did not expect the ending at all! There was a few twist and turns that were not expected. Thank goodness I have the second book (Thank you Sandra!!) So I can jump right back into the Carnelyan Pack. I need to know what happens to Kaleb and Eva. Will her mother make an appearance again? Will Kaleb and his father be able settle their fight? What will happen to the other guys and women in the pack?
I totally recommend this book and this Series. This is a wonderful author and I know I will be on pins and needles waiting for the third book to come out once I finish the second. If you are looking for a paranormal Romance with twists and turns and something different then the normal werewolfs. You must read this book!
